From Misft to Magnificent
The story of transformation and acceptance is inspired by the tale of “The Ugly Duckling”. The designs will feature a blend of elegant and edgy details, symbolizing the journey from feeling like an outcast to becoming a confident and beautiful “swan”. This collection will include a mix of silhouettes and materials. Ultimately, this collection aims to empower individuals to embrace their uniqueness, to be true to themselves, and to transform into their most magnificent selves.
I began my research with the concept of ego. The philosophical interpretation of ego is that the ego is one of the three components of the human psyche, alongside the id (instincts and desires) and superego (moral conscience). According to Sigmund Freud, the ego serves as the rational part of the mind, mediating between the primal desires of the id and the moral restrictions of the superego. It helps an individual navigate reality and make decisions that align with both personal desires and societal norms.
The concept of ego points to how people perceive themselves, their desires, and how they relate to the world around them. Whether it's seen as a psychological structure, a philosophical idea, or a behavioral trait, the ego plays a significant role in how humans understand themselves and their place in the world.
